TVXQ is a South Korean pop duo. TVXQ stands for Tong Vfang Xien Qi, which translated means Rising Gods of the East. Formed by SM Entertainment in 2003, TVXQ started out as a five-member boy band with U-Know Yunho, Max Changmin, Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, and Xiah Junsu. Their first single Hug was released in 2004. Two years later, in 2006, TVXQ entered the Japanese market with their first Japanese album Heart, Mind and Soul. In 2010, Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, and Xiah Junsu left the group. A year later, TVXQ returned as a duo with the remaining members Yunho and Changmin. TVXQ are known as Tohoshinki in Japan and sometimes they are referred to as DBSK, an abbreviation of their Korean name.
