Jeongyeon was born as Yoo Kyung-wan in South Korea. She joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2010 and debuted as a singer with the girl group Twice in 2015. Jeongyeon has two older sisters, one of whom is the actress Gong Seung-yeon.
